Most likely the reason why the rule was never made known to you was because your Bible Study Conductors never envisioned that someone from their congregation would seek anything from their Bible Study Student.

Jehovah's Witnesses can not date someone who is not a Jehovah's Witness.

There are a lot of rules that will not be made known to you. You will come to know of these rules as you progress in your studies. The more that you progress, the deeper that you will sink into the religion becoming difficult to leave even if you wanted too.

You are saying that the girl's response was a, "Crock of sh*t." Jehovah's Witnesses are taught not to lie and even a white lie is a lie. Therefore, she committed sin when she lied to you.

As a Jehovah's Witness, you can not miss meetings. The only time that you are allowed to miss meetings is for a dire situation, such as being hospitalized. Therefore, not attending the meeting because, "You were feeling down" is not an excuse and is not looked favorably. If your Bible Study Conductors were to become aware of why you missed the meeting, they will say that Satan has gotten to you. I would just tell them that I was not feeling well and that would be the truth. You were not feeling well. Do not be stupid in being honest with the Jehovah's Witness organization. The Jehovah's Witness organization has lied countless times. Therefore, there is no reason why you should be honest with them. Someone on this page stated that Jehovah's Witnesses are not worthy enough to know his beliefs and I say the same thing to you.

If you are feeling suffocated, this is only the beginning. It will get worse. Jehovah's Witness is a religion where you are stripped of who you are and everything that you are. You are to put Jehovah first.

You stated that, "You are going to lodge your vacation time." That sounds like a very good idea. Go on vacation. Let your Bible Study Conductors know that you are going to be going on an extended vacation that will last several weeks and never call them again. Ignore their calls when they call you.

Don't be fooled by your Bible Study Conductors. They are not your friends.

Jehovah Witnesses are not supposed to have friends that are not Jehovah Witnesses. They are also not supposed to socialize with others who are not Jehovah Witnesses. Jehovah Witnesses view those who are not Jehovah Witnesses as being unclean. Therefore, she was doing something that she was not supposed to be doing by befriending you. To make it worse, she also had a beer with you and she was texting you throughout the week. Her behavior would be looked at as being poor if the congregation were to become aware of what occurred. She would also become the talk of gossip and criticism. I am sure that if the elders became aware, the matter was probably addressed and most likely there was some type of consequence.

Your bible study conductors are teaching you with the goal that you become baptized. If they are aware that you have no intentions of becoming baptized, they will not continue the study.

In your preparation to being baptized, if you already belong to a certain religion, you will have to renounce that religion even if you are not active in that religion. If you were baptized as a child, you will have to contact the house of worship where you were baptized and will have to inform them that you wish to disassociate yourself from them. The Jehovah Witnesses will ensure that you do this.

In addition, you will have to end your friendships with all individuals who are not Jehovah's Witnesses. You will not be able to celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day and you will have to give up your right to vote. You will also not be allowed to watch r-rated movies and everything above an r-rating. There are a series of things that you will have to give up and keep in mind that you will have to give up these things prior to being baptized. If your study conductors observe that you are not making the changes that need to be made in order to become baptized, they will not continue with the study.

If the Jehovah Witnesses were to know that you are on this website, you will be labeled an Apostate and all communication with you will be terminated. Jehovah Witnesses teach that if you do research, it can only be from JW.Org and any other website is satanic.

Make sure that you are certain of what you are doing and getting yourself into if you are going to continue with the study. Remember, the Jehovah's Witnesses may be nice and respectful towards you. However, how they view you is completely different and they do not view you favorably. They can not view you favorably because you are a person of the world. Do not be fooled and do not be misled.

Disfellowshipping - abusing our evolutionary development

i just saw the video from kursgezagt on loneliness and it points out the biological reasons for social interaction, it also points out the reason we experience social pain in loneliness, basically, because in the recent past (a few hundred years ago) isolation meant you were very likely to die so our bodies and brains adapted to know when the circumstances of this dangerous situation emerged.. this immediately made me think about the disfellowshipping and social isolation that jw’s practice - it’s basically abusing our own evolutionary biology against ourselves and puts you in a cycle of loneliness, depression with the only ‘cure’ going back to the acceptance of the social group and accepting their ‘quirks’..

You have brought up a very good point. It is well known that many who are disfellowshipped attempt suicide. Unfortunately, some who attempt suicide actually succeed.

I do believe that being disfellowshipped can put a person at risk of death. Even if that person does not attempt to take his or her own life, being disfellowshipped can result in depression. And depression can shorten a person’s life.

Days of future passed, that is what I was wondering, whether Jehovah Witness were taking a scripture and interpreting it in their own way. A way that is to their benefit.

I have seen people be disfellowshipped within the congregation. I have also seen disfellowshipped ones be shunned. Watching how a disfellowshipped person gets treated does not seem like brotherly love to me.

JW at a thrift store....

so i was recently in a thrift store, looking through some of the stuff there, when another aisle over, somebody sneezed.. (as far as i know, nobody lost a meatball.... 😅🙃 ...).

anyway, somebody sneezed.

and somebody immediately said, “bless you!”.

My Study Conductor taught me not to say, "Bless you." I learned not to say it to Jehovah Witnesses but in the world, I did say it to others. To me, its just courtesy, showing politeness or showing that you care.

One time I observed a child say, "Bless you" to a person sitting next to her at a Kingdom Hall. Her grandmother quickly corrected her. It was sad to see the child showing courtesy and then being corrected. I am sure that the child did not think that she was doing anything wrong when she decided to say, "Bless you."
